About this deal

It’s still a super chunky ISO-certified 200 meter diver, but now features a new case design with G-Shock’s Carbon Core Guard technology as well as the first analog display on a Frogman. It uses a nato strap which makes its general weight lighter when compared to others that use steel and other metals.

Unfortunately, production was short-lived and Rado ceased making the OG Captain Cook after just six years. Lug Width: 22mm, Water Resistance: 300m, Movement: Auto ETA A31, Power Reserve: 64 Hours, Crystal: Sapphire Based on Longines’s own Super Compressor-cased watches from the 1960s and 70s, the Legend Diver was one of the first watches in the “heritage reissue” game, having been launched way back in 2009, even before the Tudor Black Bay in 2012. With this analogue sports watch, you’ve got a 12/24-hour function, a day and date display at 3 o’clock, a bi-directional rotating bezel, and large indexes so you can read the time with a quick glance. Power Reserve: 80 Hours, Crystal: Sapphire Most people associate Rado with funky retro designs and high-tech ceramic as a case material. The Black Bay series by Tudor is an inspiration from the Submariners of between the ‘50s and the ‘70s that were Tudor-branded.

From the dial, the bezel and its large titanium casing, you will find it resembling the early concepts of watch engineering. It is anti-magnetic, has a 200-meter water-resistance rate, and has a battery life that reaches 5 years. The latest version stays true to Rado’s history of using exotic materials by featuring a ceramic bezel and a unique bronze and aluminium alloy case that doesn’t develop patina as readily as most other bronze watches. With water resistance only up to 100 meters, this is a dive watch better suited to doing lengths in a swimming pool or laidback holiday snorkeling than deep-sea dives.

Perhaps it’s the knowledge that you have a high-tech tool on your wrist—one with an exhilarating history of being used by military professionals and underwater explorers. But Rolex also decided to keep certain traits of the watch’s predecessors; namely, the matte dial with painted hour markers, which lends it some additional vintage charm.

Water Resistance: 150m, Movement: Auto SW200, Power Reserve: 38 hours, Crystal: Sapphire Modern super compressor-style dive watches, easily identified by their dual crown and internal bezel design, are relatively uncommon, but there are a few good ones out there to check out, including the Christopher Ward C65 Super Compressor. Whether you’re freediving coral reefs or wreck diving far from the coast, you need a watch that won’t be out of its depth, and the Longines HydroConquest will do more than keep up with you. The modern version matches a stainless steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel made of ceramic and bearing an eye-catching red sector for the first 15 minutes of the dive scale. Best for: with its mega depth rating, the Tudor Pelagos is the perfect companion for any aquatic adventure. Its 100 m water resistance makes it perfect for pretty much any aquatic activity besides scuba diving, when you would be using a dive computer anyway. As time advances, the minute hand makes its way around the dial and moves on to the next hour on the 12-hour ring. To safely remain at pressure for such an extended period, divers breathe a gas mixture rich in helium, the molecules of which are so small they creep past the seals in, say, a watch, sometimes causing the watch crystal to explode when decompressed at the end of the “sat” dive. Smart dive watches like the Garmin Instinct Solar give the modern diver access to highly insightful analytics to optimize their performance and maximize the quality of their outdoor excursions. and also has angled integrated lugs, along with a quick-change strap system for users to easily swap straps.

The movement inside is a Sellita SW200, but heavily modified to feature a woodpecker regulation system. You can get all the rugged glamour of the best dive watches with a bit of high fashion flamboyance thrown in too with this Ulysse Nardin luxury dive watch. In place of the previously included ETA 2824, the Legend Diver is now powered by the Caliber L888, which is based on the ETA A31.
