About this deal

Meaco claims that Zambezi has six"world firsts" for a desiccant dehumidifier. These include a digital display, which is usually only found on refrigerant models, and a sterilising ioniser. The Zambezi also includes Meaco's Energy Saving Laundry+, for drying clothes fast, and a daily timer. Other features include three settings for humidity, a timer with four options (2-12 hours), laundry mode and a fragrance box. There are also two fan speeds and a built-in humidity sensor for automatic management. Compact portable dehumidifier with max 12 Litres/day extraction rate. 2 litre water tank capacity with continuous drainage option, concealed easy glide castor wheels and washable air filter Within a week we had 12 panels installed by Keith and Anthony who even did a couple of little repairs on the roof for us, which was over and above their remit. Not a tile damaged by two expert installers.

We received a number of quotes beforehand, ranging from the extortionate to the reasonable, but ECOAER came in as, by far and away, the cheapest. The equipment they quoted for was top of the range according to my son, who had a lot of research done in this area, and we were happy to choose them. EcoAir specialise in products for managing air quality. They produce a number of products, including dehumidifiers and air conditioning units. With a 10 litre capacity, the DD322 probably isn't powerful enough to be a whole home dehumidifier unless you have a maximum of 2-3 bedrooms. The good news is that it only weighs 8.5kg, so it's relatively easy to move between rooms when needed.

We think theDD122FW MK5 Classic is one of the best dehumidifiers on the market. It's not the most energy efficient or the largest, but it has excellent water extraction and works well in colder homes or garages. It's also a great option as a dehumidifier for your bedroom when on lower settings.

Other features include a three litre water tank, automatic shut-off when the tank is full, and a continuous drainage option. You'll need a floor-level drain to use a continuous drainage hose though, which is impractical for most homes. As the name suggests, the DC12 has a maximum capacity of 12 litres per day. This makes it suitable for small homes or flats, but we wouldn't recommend it for houseswith more than three bedrooms. Spending more money doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a higher quality dehumidifier. In many cases, more expensive models include extra features rather than an ability to extract water faster. While it isn't cheap, the DEX214F is highly effective at removing water from warm rooms. It also comes with a humidistat, which aims to keep humidity at a specific level. However, it's most effective at room temperature or above, so we don't recommend it for cooler environments. Rapid control of humidity & indoor laundry drying. Controls mould, condensation and bacteria growth.

One thing we like about the DD322 is how easy it is to use. The control panel is self-explanatory and there are settings for maintaining humidity between 40-60%. Like most other EcoAir models, the automatic function is great for maintaining humidity at a certain level without wasting energy. Even the quietest dehumidifier can't claim to be silent - at least if it uses electricity. Manufacturers often describe machines as having "silent" modes, but in reality this means they have a setting to reduce sound output. A dehumidifier will not get rid of mould that's already inside your property. It can, however, prevent it from returning after treatment. The new Summit-S has an additional sleep mode, an enhanced version of our popular original classic Summit mode. When in sleep mode, only the Sleep light indicator will be on. The noise level in the sleep mode is quieter at only 35 dBA.For dehumidifying garages or single rooms, however, the DD8L excels. Its lightweight and compact design, combined with the carrying handle, mean you can easily move it between rooms or take it on holiday. It also provides efficient water extraction at colder temperatures.

The air purification systemincludes five separate stages. These perform a variety of operations on the air, including a charcoal filter to remove odours and an anti-allergy device to prevent allergens spreading. An ioniser is also included. The PB-15-UK is a refrigerant dehumidifier. It's one of the biggest models we've reviewed, with a bulky footprint and a very heavy 17kg design. In other words, it's not the right tank for a small flat or home! It's also highly effective at removing water at room temperature. At 20 degrees Celsius and a 60% humidity, for example, it's able to extract up to 8.3 litres per day. The PB-02 has a 500ml water tank, which is considerably smaller than other models on this list. The maximum extraction rate is also low at 250ml per day, however, so you shouldn't need to empty it too frequently. There are three primary ranges of EcoAir dehumidifier. The DD range ofdesiccant dehumidifiers contains models such as the DD122 Classic MK5. The domestic range contains refrigerant modelsincluding the excellent DC12. EcoAir also produce a set of industrial dehumidifiers, although we won't focus on these in this article. The biggest downsides to this dehumidifier are that it's heavy and relatively noisy. These issues are a direct consequence of the dehumidifier's fast moisture extraction though. So, if you need to remove a lot of water from the air, the trade-off is worth it. We're impressed that it can extract up to 12 litres per day, especially considering the low price. However, considering thetwo litre tank, we wouldn't recommend this for large houses. For small houses, student accommodation or flats it's an excellent choice. From our first visit from Éamonn and Rory, we were very impressed with their advice, patience with all our questions, and their tailoring of a system that suited our situation perfectly. One of our favourite compactdehumidifiers is the EcoAir DC12. While there are lighter options available, its slim design and large water tank make it an excellent home dehumidifier. Like all refrigerant dehumidifiers, it works best at room temperature or above. This makes it suitable for bedrooms and bathrooms, but its poor performance at lower temperatures makes it unsuitable for garages or conservatories.
