We were impressed by this cordless number after giving it a whirl for our Henry HBV160 review. As with his plug-in mates, our tester Sarah found this Henry was capable of cleaning carpets, hard flooring, car interiors, and the aftermath of DIY projects.While our fave corded Henry HRV160 was a bit of a pain to use on the stairs, Sarah found that the HVB160 was comparatively stress-free, with ease of use thanks to the 2.2 m hose which could reach every step with no trouble at all. Henry is the stalwart of this range: tough, durable and easy to use. There may be lighter and sleeker models available, but it is by no means too cumbersome and its impressive storage capacity, means you’ll have plenty of time before you need to change the bags.

Henry is probably the most iconic vacuum cleaner in the world. While the cute face catches the eye, Henry has remained popular due to its powerful suction, no-nonsense design and large capacity.

Our reviewer did find this vacuum a little more difficult to push around than the other Henry vacuums she tested, something she put down to the intensity of the suction power. Best Wet Cleaning – the best wet cleaner could be the George, but the Charles does a great job of cleaning up wet spills, too. It just doesn’t have the added extras and 4-in-1 capacity of the George.

As its core, the Reach is the Henry Compact. This means the vac has a six litre capacity, 10 metre power cord and a 620W motor. It's slightly heavier than the compact, but only by 0.2kg. Pull out the two clips on both sides that hold the top of the machine to the drum, then, using the handle lift off the machine top (POWER HEAD). Lift out the main white filter and remove the dust bag from the tube inside the drum. The genuine Numatic dust bag has a sealing tab, which allows you to keep the dust in the bag once full. Push the tab into the hole and dispose of the full bag.
