About this deal

I’m not usually a fan of this tool, but this series is based on this ideal, it is emotive and meant to pull on the heartstrings as this lifelong friendship is what it’s all about; the reader is left feeling spent and may even think about their own circumstances. Overall a very good quality service from this seller and I would not hesitate to recommend this seller. I was so pleased with the detail and depth that Kristin Hannah used in this book to reveal the True Cloud. asked a thin, artsy-looking man with hair the color of a tangerine and more hardware on his face than Sears carried in the nuts-and-bolts aisle. From the Newbery Award–winning author of Sarah, Plain and Tall comes a story about one brave girl who saves her family from losing everything.

Tully tries to fulfill her deathbed promise to Kate---to be there for Kate's children---but Tully knows nothing about family or motherhood or taking care of people. In Firefly Lane, a dying Kate said these words to Tully: "You're afraid of love, but you've got so much of it to give. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. The first quarter of the book describes and stretches every agonizing detail the moments after Kate's death. I love their friendship, which is why I continued with Fly Away even though it broke my heart into a million pieces.

If you’ve gotten this far in my review, you can probably guess that I was not a fan of Fly Away at all.In 2015, The Nightingale became an international blockbuster and was Goodreads Best Historical fiction novel for 2015 and won the coveted People's Choice award for best fiction in the same year. At Kate's funeral, Johnny had "pushed through the crowd [and] passed several people, all of whom murmured some variation of the same useless words—sorry, suffering over, better place. Nancy: Well before either of you, I was definitely hanging out with people I should have never been around. In her expensive black nylons, she walked in the spitting rain down the dirty Seattle sidewalk toward home.

Four years after Kate's death, we check in with the remaining characters: Tully, Johnny, Marah, and Cloud. I do think there is some character development for Tully, but it’s kind of crammed into the ending of the book, and any development she had in the four years between Kate’s death and her car accident, which isn’t much, feels unearned because it’s told in flashbacks. It made me wonder how Tully could possibly get that many prescriptions from that many different doctors. As the months go by, Marah finds herself in a deep state of depression in California and starts falling down a slippery slope. They didn’t always talk, but they would just be together, and that helped Margie in her grieving process. As befits a story in which words and music play such a central role, MacLachlan’s writing is melodic, poetic, and enchanting. Like after a certain point (and I think four years is past that point) you have to pick yourself up and live your life right? Her father, Johnny, strives to hold the family together, but even with his best efforts, Marah becomes unreachable in her grief. Told mostly in flashbacks by Tully, Johnny, Marah and Tully’s long-estranged mother, Dorothy, aka Cloud, the story piles up disasters like the derailment of a high-speed train.
