About this deal

Slott and artist Mike Allred launched a new Silver Surfer series in May 2014. [19] In 2016, Slott and Allred's Silver Surfer #11 won the Eisner Award for " Best Single Issue". [20] Cowsill "2010s" in Gilbert (2012), p. 334: "Spidey's adventures were about to take an exciting new direction as Dan Slott became the title's sole writer." In 2018 ended Slott wrote four of the Top 10 selling issues for the entire industry, taking the #2, #4, #8, and #10 spots. [21] That year Slott finished his ten year-plus run on The Amazing Spider-Man. [22] He wrote his last major storyline, titled " Go Down Swinging", from issue #797–800, which detailed Spider-Man fighting a Carnage-bonded Green Goblin. After that, he finished his run with his final issue being #801. After finishing his run on The Amazing Spider-Man, Slott began writing Tony Stark: Iron Man and Fantastic Four. [23] 2020s [ edit ] Gerding, Stephen (January 19, 2018). "Dan Slott Leaving Amazing Spider-Man, Will Write Iron Man". Comic Book Resources. Archived from the original on July 4, 2018. Slott's She-Hulk isn't as overtly meta as Byrne's Sensational She-Hulk, but it does mine the depths of Marvel lore for both comedic and dramatic effect. For instance, the series establishes that a version of Marvel Comics exists within the Marvel Universe, and all their comics are 100% factual accounts of real-life incidents.

By Dan Slott Omnibus ( 2020 oversize hardcover, ISBN 978-1302925321 / 2022 oversize hardcover, ISBN 978-1302947231 / digital) The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl & The GLA, collects GLA:Misassembled #1–4, GLX-Mas Special, and Deadpool/GLA Summer Fun Spectacular. For a more modern take on She-Hulk, start from Dan Slott’s She-Hulk (2004) #1. This gives you a written-for-trade era set of story arcs, and plenty of material to ready – since this continues to a second series for 38 more issues! Schreur, Brandon (July 1, 2022). "Marvel Is Bringing the Spider-Verse to an End in a New Spider-Man Series". CBR.com. Archived from the original on July 1, 2022 . Retrieved March 27, 2023. This mini-series was released prior to John Byrne’s run on the title that begin a few months later, but in chronology it fits after issue #5, as listed below. [ Marvel Unlimited] She-Hulk does not have her own title in this period, but plays a bigger supporting role than ever before in the main Hulk title. Generally if she is listed as appearing in a Hulk title, it’s at least as a featured guest-star, if not as a co-star character. Fall of the Hulks: The Savage She-Hulks (2010) #1-3

I like to think it comes from state change. A character begins a scene in one frame of mind– makes a change– and leaves in a new altered state, for good or ill. And this happens on a larger scale from scene-to-scene, from act-to-act, from story-to-story and so on.Sensational She-Hulk (1989) #9-30, 47, & 51-60 and Thing & She-Hulk: The Long Night (2002) #1 are not collected in this format at this time. The way I sold it was ‘Ally McBeal with muscles.’ What would it be like to be a super hero, to be a lawyer in a super hero world? We hadn’t seen this at Marvel,” Slott explained. “Everything she was dealing with [before] was real-world law, and the fun of this run of SHE-HULK was we introduced superhuman law. Mainly, it’s because I don’t know a thing about the law, and I could write a lawyer show that way, the same way I could write – like I don’t know anything about science, but I can write a whole story about Adamantium and Antarctic vibranium and Pym particles and cosmic rays. I don’t need a degree in that!” But yeah, sometimes real life is getting him down, and throwing on that costume and swinging through the sky is the best thing ever! TD: The indie market has diversified intensely during the 21st century as independent comics have become mainstream in their own way. Is there any Dan Slott independent work we can expect to see in the future?

Slott was the writer of Marvel's Avengers: The Initiative, [6] which launched following the conclusion of the 2006–07 " Civil War" storyline. He was one of the four writers of the thrice-monthly The Amazing Spider-Man, a schedule which began in January 2008 following the controversial storyline " One More Day". [7] On top of that, the Secret Wars event was never intended to be a hard reboot. There was no version of the Post Secret Wars landscape where any character was going to be magically de-aged. Characters coming over from another universe? Sure. That makes sense due to the nature of the Secret Wars storyline. Magically zapped into something else? Nope. Dan Slott: "After all, there's no big deal in Peter Parker becoming "Tony Stark" if the readers don't know how things used to be." With She-Hulk’s solo series over and her membership in both Avengers and Fantastic Four lapsed, she fell into disuse as just an occasional guest star from 1994 to 1996. What all of the current fanboys in charge of things have really accomplished is to alienate most of their fanbase and prevent younger fans from participating. Sure, the few that are a part of "the club" are happy but today's books are failing on many levels.

Dan Slott:Oy. :-D I'm not saying it's boring, I'm saying that this is something I'm interested in and I believe it will lead to exciting Spider-Man stories. I challenge you to try all three of these titles for yourself and give me a good reason why you can't recommend them to the younger customers in your store. Infinity Gauntlet (1991): See Guide to Marvel Universe Events – Infinity Gauntlet. Effectively, She-Hulk’s participation in this event occurs just prior to John Byrne’s return to her title. She appears in issues #2-4. After issue #2, she is also in Silver Surfer (1987) #52. During issue #4 she is in Silver Surfer (1987) #54 and Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme (1988) #33. John Byrne:And you know what's supposed to happen when it gets "wearying"? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO MOVE ON. You are NOT supposed to selfishly demand that the comics and the characters change to fit YOUR needs. Nor are the writers, artists and editors supposed to pander to the ever diminishing pool of people who make such demands.
